Shoot for the Moon #52 – Eh? Canada! and Book cover and promotion

New Canada Nationstamp!

I have finalized the Canada Nationstamp. I have already sent off for mini and large panels. The artwork is below. I will be adding the panels and the mini panels to my website soon! What do you think? They are into beavers! That is what that little critter is on the bottom right.Their postage is 57 cents Canadian. Oh Canada is the country’s anthem and the moose are all over Canada. The maple leaf is on their flag. The building is their nation’s capital. In the background is a representation of the snow capped mountains all across Canada. What do you think? Eh?

Blocks Across America Book Cover

Today I got a pdf of my first book cover.  While it did not have the “flavor” of what I was going for it had many good ideas. Luckily I am a graphic designer and I was able to shoot back my ideas for the cover. I am telling you this so those of the followers that are interested in the book publishing process can get an idea of how things progress. I also got word that the Fall catalog for C&T is going out for printing. My book will not be in there but it will have a full page in the Spring catalog. That’s cool.

Promotion and Brand Building

Promotion and brand building have to always be in the front of my mind. I had met a nice lady when I was at Pittsburgh. Her name was Michele Foster and she has a website called Quilting Gallery and within the site she has a Quilt Market.  My patterns are now on her site. You can find them there and when you go to order it brings you to my site. The website is: http://quiltinggallery.com

I will also being doing a full author interview in December with Rebecca Parkins of  the Fiber Arts/Mixed Media show on Blog Talk Radio . For more information on this please email Rebecca Parsons at cre8Tiva2@gmail.com.

I will be working on my website page for studio classes and private lessons next! I plan on holding classes for my patterns, for beginning quilters and for art quilters right here in my studio. (Here is Clarksville, MD) Watch the website for the announcement!

More to come as always! –

    Debra,
I think you did a great job representing Canada. I live in our nation’s capital, and it is kind of odd to see mountains behind the Parliament buildings, but with a little imagination of the greater Canada, it works well.

Thank you for listing your fabulous patterns on my site, and promoting my site in your blog. I really appreciate that.

I’m excited about your book, as there are many places in the US that I have visited and creating mini quilts for each place would be amazing, eh? 🙂

    Best wishes!
    Michele
