Shoot for the Moon #59- Opportunity Knocks

Opportunity came via email last week. C&T Publishing sent out a request for quilt label art from current authors. I made 12 quilt labels for a digital CD that they are going to be offering. I do not think I can show you all the labels I submitted – but I think it would be okay to give you a sneak peek at one I submitted. This one is being inspired by my next book – Quilt Blocks Around the World. Sneak peek:

Today I met Lee Z, from my Blocks Across America Book of volunteers. Hi Lee! It is so much fun to make new friends through quilting. I was able to show Lee that her BAA quilt made the back cover! Yeah! Her quilt is also inside. Lee is a quilter who took a leave of absence from quilting for awhile and is now back and getting more and more into Art Quilts. She is going to join Metrothreads – the group I started for regional art quilters. It is a great group. If Lee joins today she will be our 100th member!

New Vision Board for 2010 and beyond!

I might have told you before – but I will tell you again about my vision board. A vision board is a place where you keep all of your dreams. Being a computer artist I do it on the computer. Many do collages using magazine pix. It is an amazing focusing tool! It is fun too. I think about all the hope and dreams for my future – specifically in my business. You get pix and make a collage. I was amazed to see how many of the dreams that had come true from my vision board of 2008! So I made a new one. I will post my new one from when I am 100% done. This was my old one-2008..

My sweet niece Kelly (my brother’s youngest) got married last weekend. She was absolutely gorgeous and the wedding was perfect! The wedding was held in upstate NY high atop a hill over looking the Hudson Valley in a old stone church. The reception was in my brothers backyard that looked like it should have been in a professional magazine! It was glorious. I am so grateful I got to partake in such a beautiful event.Look at the pix I took:

Kelly and Chris McCloskey

My brother Artie and his wife - my sister Patti and the happy couple!

My 13 year old son Cole and his cousin Avery

The newlyweds, My parents (married 62 years) and my Brother and sister in law

My boys: Austin-15, Cole-13 and Brooks-18

Stay tuned – more to come!!!

I’m delighted your book will be coming out in December. Something to put on my list for Santa. Will they be sold in The Quilter’s Attic in Pine Bush, NY? I met you there while you gave a showing of some of your birds, flowers and kits. I also did one of your new flower samples. Can’t wait to get the book.
